COURSE DESCRIPTION COMBINING RESISTIVE EXERCISE WITH KINESIO TAPING CREATING DYNAMIC RESULTS is a 12 hour beginner to intermediate course designed to improve the
clinical rehabilitation skills using a scientific and systematic approach. The emphasis of this course is to provide scientific
information to improve problem-solving skills in order to support evidence-based practice and improve your clinical decision-making
skills. But, take it one step further and apply Kinesio Tape during resistive exercise giving you
and the patient a two fold application. The first allows you the opportunity to give support while maintaining full range of motion, enabling the individual to participate
in resistive exercise without “cheating” resulting in increased physical activity with functional assistance.
The second technique helps to prevent overuse and / or over-contraction. In addition, simple correctional
techniques used during resistive exercise including mechanical, ligament / tendon, fascia, and space corrections increase
the success rate of functional recovery. This
course combines 50% lecture with 50% hands-on training in prescribing resistive exercise as well as balance training using
inexpensive equipment, including elastic resistance, exercise balls, and balance tools while giving support, as needed, with
Kinesio Tape.
|
OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to: - Have better decision-making skills by applying scientific rationale for therapeutic
exercise prescription and progression.
- Identify impairment-based approaches to therapeutic exercise prescription to facilitate
appropriate clinical decision-making.
- Recognize importance and benefits of combining taping with therapeutic resistive
exercise.
- Incorporate
innovative and new techniques using inexpensive and readily available exercise modalities, including elastic resistance, exercise
balls and stabilizers.
